SUMMARY:Temptation Waits
DESCRIPTION:Led by the strong female voice of Charlie Cooper\, this 5 pi
ece blasted through a near two hour set\, keeping the sadly sparse crowd
entertained (get off your arses and get to these live venues folks\, th
e telly's pish on a Friday and Saturday anyway!).... Kicking off with Bo
rn to be Wild and a scintillating version of Dancing in the Dark\, it wa
s already obvious that they were shit hot musicians\, and that Charlie h
as one cracking 'rock songs' vocal range. Breaking the Law (tune!)\, Zom
bie and a 'top rock' version of Wicked Game from Chris Isaak\, had 3 las
ses in the corner boogieing away. Deeper Underground "from the film Godz
illa" Charlie informs us was followed by a blistering rendition of Rebel
Yell (now that IS a tune ). You Oughta Know\, Running Up That Hill\, E
nter Sandman\, Walk This Way and You Can Go Your Own Way took us up to a
well deserved break for the band. Along with Charlie\, we had Leo 'tam
my and shorts' on drums\, Stu and Jake\, two top guitarists and Woody th
e bass player hidden away in the back but still heard! They all know the
ir stuff\, and were back on in jig time for part two. Talking of jigging
the three lasses in the corner were still having a good time bopping aw
ay to the mainly 'rock' classics... Woody the bass player was called int
o action early doors on part two with the bass solo in The Chain from Fl
eetwood Mac.. Well done Sir \, you aced it.. Since the word 'Ace' came u
p it's only right to mention the passing of Ace Frehley from Kiss who wi
ll be sadly missed by the rock fraternity. .. The band now gave us a so
mewhat 'raunchy'\, thanks to Charlie's stage antics\, of Come Together\,
a Beatles classic.. (John Lennon couldn't compete with that version ).
... Bad Romance \, How You Remind Me and Weak took us up to Even Flow fr
om Pearl Jam "This song is in my top five of all time" says Charlie... I
'm Just a Girl is followed by a topper from the now also sadly departed
Ozzy Osbourne\, Crazy Train..  Next up was a full on musical assault f
rom a Led Zeppelin number\, Rock and Roll.. I'm not what you'd call a he
avy metal or rock music connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination\,
but this song is a 'belter'\, and it got the rendition it deserved from
the band... A change of genre was in the offing next up\, as the punters
were asked to join in with the "Wo-oh's" as Charlie sang us The Kids In
America\, a classic from the 80's from Kim Wilde... The band finished o
ff with another two top tunes\, You Give Love a Bad Name from Bon Jovi\,
and the Dreadnought Classic of All Time\, Whole Lotta Rosie from ACDC\,
(complete with Charlie wearing lit up devil horns... We'd once again be
en treated to top quality music from a top quality band. I particularly
liked the eclectic mix we heard tonight\, and it's just a pity some more
punters hadn't lifted their arses from their couches and joined us.. Ne
ver mind \, their loss.. The folk who were there totally enjoyed themsel
ves for sure. .. Shout out as usual to the bar staff\, doormen and big
Pete on sound (nailed it again bigman ).... Big Hastie over and out fro
m the place that rocks... NOW it's time to go hame and see what's oan th
 e telly..
